About Vinologie

A well-curated portfolio of the finest beverages.

Wines, saké, beers and spirits made by passionate producers around the world, brought to Ontario with care.

Our story

Built on taste, trust and a love of the bottle.

Vinologie was created on the idea of offering our customers a well-curated portfolio of the finest beverages made by passionate winemakers, brewers and distillers around the world. Fortunately for us, this new generation of producers is deeply committed to sustainable agriculture, with the same care extending all the way through production.

In a competitive market, we are proud to showcase unique products that stand out among the countless brands through the way our selections are made, presented and packaged.

Our commitment to bring you exciting products will always be at the forefront of our activity.

What we stand for

Four principles guide every selection.

Sustainability

We favour growers who farm with care for soil, water and the next generation.

Craft

Hand-tended vineyards, koji-room saké and small-batch spirits over mass production.

Discovery

We seek the unfamiliar and the underrepresented, then make them accessible in Ontario.

Excellence

Every bottle in our portfolio has earned its spot through tasting and trust.

The people

A small team, deeply involved.

Portrait of Leo Baduria

Founder

Leo Baduria

In 1991, Leo left a career as a medical research assistant and joined the wine industry as a sales associate for a respected wine agency, where he gained early experience in wine marketing.

He went on to co-found Groupe Soleil in 1997, set up Amphorae in 1999, and finally launched his own company, Portfolio Wine & Spirits, in 2001, developing the market for specialty wines from independent family growers in France, Italy, Austria, Spain, Australia and New Zealand.

Leo introduced wines that had not been seen before in Ontario, including Grüner Veltliner, Primitivo and Negroamaro. His passion for artisanal wines, sakés and spirits, paired with decades of expertise, led to the creation of Vinologie in response to the evolving Canadian drinks market.
